The word of God is the most powerful tool that we will ever find, and God uses it to speak to us. So why not read it? So many people are caught up in the hustle and bustle of the day that they don't have time to read God's Word. Of course they have time to catch up on their favorite TV show, and enough time to catch a glimpse of the big game. They have time for everything, but when it comes time to read the Bible, there is always something else to do. In this way, people miss out on getting to know God better. They don't allow themselves to be spoken to. How will we ever come to know God if we do not interact with him? Let me ask you a question. How many friends do you have, or how many people do you know? I am pretty sure you didn't get to know them by gesticulating. There has to be at least one word of interaction for friends to be born! There is no difference when it comes to being friends with God. We must talk to him through prayer, and we must go to him in his word. John 1:1 says, "In the beginning, the Word was already there. The Word was with God, and the Word was God."
